Dr Rohan Valsangkar

Dr. Rohan Satish Valsangkar is a urologist with more than 15 years of experience in urology. He has an experience of working as a urologist in different urological centers all over India before settling down in Pune. He has a brilliant and meritorious career record right from his school days that has included training from the best medical colleges in India. He has been trained at and has been faculty at institutes known as the centers of excellence in the field of urology in India.   • Currently he is working as consultant urologist mainly in Deennath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune where he is involved in kidney stone laser and prostate surgeries along with state of art laparoscopic and robotic urology surgeries. He is also a keen academic and is a DNB (urology) guide and mentor.
  • He is also consultant to other hospitals like Mai Mangeshkar hospital, Warje, KEM hospital, Pune and honorary urologist to Indian Railways.

I have been doing all major urological procedures since 4 years independently including:

  •  Endourological procedures: >250 PCNL (including complicated PCNLs ), TURP,TURBT,VIU
  •  Open and reconstructive procedures: radical nephrectmy, cystectomy, urethroplasty-BMG and
    end to end ,hypospadis repair, ureter reimplantation, augmention cystoplasty etc.
  •  Laparoscopic procedures( both retroperitonioscopic and transperitonial) :simple nephrectomy,
    radical neprhrectomy , ureterolithotmy ,pyeloplasty, ureter reimplantation, orchidopexy) More
    than 100 laparoscopic urologic procedures done independently.
  •  Kidney transplantation related work: AV fistulas, CAPD insertion, retroperitonioscopic donor
    nephrectomy
  •  Special interest in retroperitonioscopic nephrectomy.
  •  Received 2nd best paper prize award at WZ-USICON 2011 at Goa for paper “Gleason scoreupgradation after radical prostatectomy: correlation to pathological findings and implications in
    management of prostate cancer.”
  •  Recipient of Eagle traveling fellowship at WZ-USICON 2011 conference, Goa.
    3. Recipient of Urology Society of India(USI) international traveling fellowship to attend the
    British Society of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) conference in June 2011 at Liverpool, UK
